Founded in 2005 but based on 230 years of shipbuilding experience, Fincantieri Yachts offers the perfect combination of youth and experience – a blend that results in some of the most impressive megayachts. By drawing on in-house and external Italian shipbuilding talent, Fincantieri Yachts mixes expertise with enthusiasm.
Specialising in yachts over 70 metres, and with no limit on production capability, each yacht is not just a leap forward in technology, design and aesthetics but a new benchmark for beauty and luxury on the sea.
From 2011’s 134-metre Serene to 2014’s 140-metre Ocean Victory, Fincantieri pushes the boundaries of megayacht design and construction.
Fincantieri Yachts aspires to inspire owners, by building a unique, bespoke megayacht or by leveraging existing designs to turn visions into reality faster.
Above a certain size, an excellent large yacht can only be developed by starting from a strong ship design and building background, and then incorporating those special elements that distinguish a megayacht from a ship. Fincantieri Yachts has that capability.
The megayachts created by Fincantieri are designed and built in the Muggiano shipyard in La Spezia, a centre of excellence for high-tech, high-quality, high-performance craft.
Equipped with state-of-the-art production and industrial technology facilities, the yard can build vessels over 70 metres in length and has a huge network of specialised suppliers at its disposal who can meet the very specific demands of yacht owners.
By employing numerous design concepts developed in tandem with international design studios, Fincantieri Yachts has created boats that are the epitome of Italian creativity and style: unique, one-of-a-kind, and instantly recognised around the world.
For each key element of the vessel’s design and construction, Fincantieri forms a specific team including the best experts from the company’s extensive network –
combining advanced technology, creativity and flexibility with a passion for quality and attentive client care. These are the same ingredients that have helped Italian companies excel in luxury goods, from fashion to jewellery and cars to luxury boats.
As a starting point for owners who have not yet developed their own design, Fincantieri Yachts has several concept designs of 70 meters and above to provide inspiration. At an early stage of development, these designs allow individual adaptations to the profile, general layout and interior styling that can easily translate into a custom-made design.
For every project, Fincantieri Yachts is the only yard that grants to stay side-by-side with the owner and his team to provide a unique construction experience, while also infusing each of its yachts with elegance, beauty and the unique flavour of Italian creativity.
That creativity is exemplified in the new VIS concept – showcased here on these pages and launched at the Monaco Yacht Show.
The concept was developed in partnership with the Italian designer Francesco Paszkowski’s studio – the result being an unconventional yacht which looks like a naval vessel but features the enhanced comforts of a megayacht.
VIS represents the perfect combination of advanced technology, well-established heritage and sophisticated architectural solutions, such as folding-out terraces, wide panoramic social areas and solar panels that embody the quintessence of design as a combination of shape and function.
The 80.8-metre, six-deck vessel allows spacious interiors with a unique, minimalist exterior. Floor-to-ceiling glazed surfaces flood the interior with light, while a matching masking film coating the outside provides ultimate privacy and a distinct, austere look.
With a range of 5,000 nautical miles and seven owner and guest cabins, VIS is a statement yacht for the unique individual.
